The Victorian Villa Inn, located in the quaint, historic St. Joseph River village of Union City, Michigan, is an elegant & romantic 19th Century Victorian Inn. Commissioned in 1872 and completing construction in 1876, Dr. & Mrs. William P. & Caroline E. Hobart Hurd, built this picturesque three story, brick, towered & bracketed Italianate Villa. The restoration of Hurd's historic villa back to it's original beauty and grandeur began in December of 1978. It had been "modernized & apartmentized' since it left the original family's possession in 1910. After three years of intense restoration effort, The Victorian Villa Inn opened in January of 1982. The Victorian Villa Inn has achieved a national reputation for it's extraordinary, elegant Victorian ambiance and ornate sumptuous furnishings and a well deserved recognition as a secluded, romantic get-a-way for couples in love and a charming haven for honeymooners. It has also achieved the recognition as "THE" perfect setting for an old fashioned Victorian Wedding.
